These staggering numbers in a fast-growing economy have been a cause for concern for the Government of India (GoI), and for us as well. With the welcoming attitude of the GoI, WISH entered into a first ever public-private-partnership in primary healthcare with the Government of Rajasthan in 2014. We have gradually expanded our footprint since then.
India is also an innovation-hub. It was an easy decision that we leverage this opportunity and test our technology-driven, primary healthcare models, beginning in India. In the five years since, we have been on a steady path of passionate innovation, and with our feet on the ground, have tried and tested several innovative technologies and ideas in about 300 clinics that we have been entrusted with. Our latest innovation is a technology-enabled Health and Wellness Center model, which is proving to be a game-changer in primary healthcare delivery for the last-mile population.
With the valuable experience gained on the ground, WISH is now advisor to several state governments in the roll-out of their health agendas. We have entered into partnership with the governments in the states of Assam, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, with plans to expand to other priority states, as defined by the GoI, in the near future.
